Hidden Talents is a contemporary praise band that provides the musical accompaniment for the New Hope worship service, which is given every Sunday morning at 8:45.  You can find more info about New Hope by clicking on the “Services” link to the left. 

We also organize and perform at fund raising events and other special worship services that are offered periodically, as well as festivals and concerts, both religious and secular, outside of Carnegie Presbyterian Church.  

Hidden Talents had its beginnings 15 years ago at a retreat of the former

Christ U.P. Church of Carnegie. Two of the men – both guitarists – felt led

to organize a contemporary praise band. When they returned from the retreat,

they recruited a keyboardist, guitarist, bassist, drummer, and singers, and began

rehearsing. The name “Hidden Talents” was chosen because up till then,

nobody had any idea all these talents existed within the church! A praise and

worship service was begun every other Sunday night, and from there it grew

to a contemporary service every Sunday morning.

In 2001, Christ U.P. merged with First Presbyterian Church to become

Carnegie Presbyterian Church, and the band continued to provide a half-hour

of praise & worship music before each service on Sunday. 

In 2007, a new worship service was created, New Hope, and Hidden Talents was tabbed to lead the praise music.

The music of Hidden Talents does not fall easily into any one particular style;

it is a reflection of the various members and includes influences from

‘traditional’ praise & worship, rock, American country, and English folk, Southern Gospel.

Whatever the style, care is always taken to be sure the message is a clear

and accurate reflection of God’s Word.
